Values guided action…
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) evolved from traditional cognitive-based approaches, placing a strong focus on Mindfulness. It aims to cultivate the ability to remain present and engaged with the current moment, even during challenging times, without becoming overly entangled in thoughts or emotions.
In ACT, you learn how to relate differently to feared or avoided thoughts, feelings, memories, and bodily sensations. Through mindfulness, you cultivate a deeper understanding of your internal experiences and develop greater flexibility in your responses to life's challenges. Instead of fighting or trying to avoid uncomfortable internal experiences, ACT teaches you to accept these experiences as part of being human, while committing to actions that align with core values. This approach empowers you to make conscious choices aligned with your values, enhancing your overall well-being and fostering a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
ACT is a shorter-term therapy that has been proven effective now in treating a variety of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety and chronic pain.
Through ACT, you learn to focus on your values—what's truly important to you—and use them to guide your actions, leading to a more fulfilling life.

Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy technique used to help people recover from traumatic experiences and other distressing issues. During EMDR sessions, you will focus on troubling memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation, such as following your therapist's hand movements or listening to sounds. This process helps your brain reprocess those memories, lessening their emotional impact and allowing you to heal and move forward. By facilitating the brain's natural healing mechanisms, EMDR helps process past traumatic experiences in a safe and controlled environment, allowing them to be integrated into their overall life experiences in a more adaptive and less distressing way. As a result, EMDR can lead to a resolution of emotional distress, a reduction in symptoms related to trauma, and a greater sense of empowerment and well-being.
EMDR therapy is an effective approach for processing stuck memories and beliefs, ultimately leading to resolution and healing.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a practical and goal-oriented approach to therapy that focuses on changing patterns of thinking and behaviour to improve mental health.
In CBT, you will learn to recognise and challenge negative or unhelpful thoughts that contribute to distressing emotions and behaviours. In collaboration with the therapist, you will develop strategies to replace negative thoughts with more balanced and constructive ones. Additionally, CBT emphasises the importance of implementing new behaviours and coping skills to address specific challenges and achieve desired outcomes. With its structured and evidence-based techniques, CBT empowers individuals to take an active role in managing their mental health and cultivating positive changes in their lives.
CBT teaches you practical tools to manage your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, leading to improved mental health and well-being.
